Computer simulation of nanoparticle coagulation in a turbulent flow field using parallel computers such as housed by the University of Minnesota Supercomputer Institute.

Students and faculty within the IGERT program have access to state-of-the-art facilities at the University of Minnesota. These included:

• The University of Minnesota Supercomputing Institute features several cutting-edge parallel computers.
  

• The Microtechnology Laboratory features a wide array of instruments for microfabrication and microelectronics manufacturing in clean room enviroments.

• The Institute of Technology Characterization Facility houses state-of-the-art instruments for materials and surface characterization.

All facilities employ a number of professionals to support students and faculty in their research.
